When choosing a valeter, it is extreamly important to do your homework, as over the last twenty years the standards of valeting has declined. This is mostly due to cheap hand car washes that use untrained staff, cheap acidic traffic film remover and wheel acid and aqua blades (squeegees) that scratch the paint work. A proper valeter will only use PH nuetral products along with lambs wool wash pad/mitt and micro fibre drying towels, which will leave the paint work scratch free as well as preventing swirl marks, that can be seen in direct sun light. If your car has matte paint or has been matte wrapped, you have to be careful, as the only car shampoo you can use on a matte finish is matte shampoo, as it does not contain any gloss enhancers. These gloss enhancers can damage the matte effect. Carbon fibre brakes are usualy fitted to prestigious sports cars such as Ferrari, Porsche and Aston Martin. When cleaning wheels fitted with carbon fibre brakes, it is of upmost importance that only water is used, as the likes of wheel acid and even some non acidic wheel cleaners can cause damage to the carbon fibre compound.
